Workshops

WORKSHOP FOR EVERYONE

Reasons Why Workshops Are Beneficial:

I offer different art workshops for all ages and abilities. Examples are semi professional art groups who require new inspiration and opportunities to work and inspire each other.

Kindergarten projects over several days and opportunities to make exhibitions, or more social inputs for work Inset days.

Focused Learning in a Short Time

Workshops allow you to dive deep into a specific technique or theme without a long-term commitment. In just a few hours, you’ll gain new skills and insights that you can immediately apply to your own artistic practice.

Creative Community & Collaboration

Working alongside other artists creates an inspiring environment where ideas flow freely. You’ll share techniques, learn from each other’s approaches, and build connections with fellow creatives who share your passion.

Freedom to Experiment

The workshop setting encourages you to step outside your comfort zone and try something new. Without the pressure of perfection, you can explore, make mistakes, and discover unexpected creative breakthroughs in a supportive atmosphere.

Examples of Workshops

Brushstrokes & Beyond: A Two-Day Japanese Painting Workshop
Over two days, you will explore the foundations of traditional Japanese visual arts — from ink and pigment to calligraphy and portraiture.

On the first day, we move through three core traditions: Sumi-e (ink painting), Nihonga (pigment-based painting using watercolour), and Zen calligraphy. Through guided brushwork and composition exercises, you will create your own landscape with mountains and trees, and begin working with Japanese script.

On the second day, bring a portrait photograph you would like to paint. After studying and copying a Japanese portrait, you will create your own in traditional style — completed with Japanese characters woven into the composition.
Kindergarten workshop. Art in Nature.
Working with volunteers from ‘The Old Post Office’ I was appointed to make a 3 day workshop with a local kindergarten. We went for walks and collected ‘stuff from nature’. They did drawings with charcoal and coloured chalks. Paintings with acrylic and made clay sculptures all inspired by nature and other artists.

The 3 days ended with an exhibition at The Old Post office’ for family and friends. Great fun.
One of’fun workshop
Situation: A present from a godmother to her goddaughter. 3 hours workshop. Both had to paint a painting for each other.

First they painted a canvas with acrylic paint. Leaving it abstract adding different textures and colours. When it was dry they had to make a ‘blind’ drawing with a poscha pen of the other person without lifting the pen. This creatives lots of separate areas that they can add colours, patterns, symbols etc. to.Making it more or less personal. The possibilities were endless but unfortunately not the time.
Workshop for The Azurpainter group
A weekend workshop for a semiprofessional paintergroup who occasionally invite an artist to do an inspirational workshop for them.

The focus was Landscape. The starting point was to create a landscape using collage. From there they had to interpret their collage into a landscape.
